If a department wishes to expand wireless coverage in their area, ITS will provide cost estimates to purchase and install the campus ‘standard' equipment. Cost estimates for new wireless installations will be provided within five (5) working days of the request. When the department accepts the estimate by providing their chart field information the equipment procurement begins. The typical time between the equipment order and delivery of equipment is thirty (30) working days. When the equipment is received, installation is then scheduled and is normally completed within twenty (20) working days. ITS will notify the department at the time of the estimate if additional time is required due to the complexity of the installation or unusual backlog of work orders.

ITS normally activates phone changes within five (5) business days and data changes when existing cabling is in place within three (3) business days. These changes are completed between 8am and 5pm on Cal Poly business days. However, if these changes will cause a significant service interruption, please contact Network Administration at 6-1295 to discuss other options. We may be able to accommodate the change request if there is enough lead time and available resources.

Cost estimates for network ports that require new cable installation will be provided within five (5) working days of the request. Typical completion of the installation is twenty (20) working days after receipt of departmental funding information.

30 day turn around time. If custom MRTG graphs are required to assist with an open Remedy case, the turn around time will be ASAP.
