Obtaining a Cisco View Account
What is it?
Cisco View is a network management tool primarily used by Network Administration and various DLAN's (Department Local Area Network Coordinators) to evaluate the various network switches in their area of responsibility to aid in troubleshooting.
What can it do?
Cisco View enables the user to view real-time metrics of each switch module as well as individual port of that switch to help in determining network or port problems.
Who can get an account to Cisco View?
Any DLAN Coordinator can request a Cisco View account. Cisco View is a module within a Network Management tool called Cisco Works. To obtain a Cisco View account is to obtain a Cisco Works account.
How to request a Cisco View account?
Request an account via a Remedy Ticket. In the Remedy Ticket specify the buildings, floors, and/or areas you are responsible for. Network Administration will determine which switches this encompasses. You will be given a url as well as a password to access a Cisco Works account. From that account you can use Cisco View as described in the following points. Please refer to our Services Turn Around Time page for information about how long it will take to receive your account.
